In 2016, Verifly launched its on-demand, per-flight, liability insurance for the burgeoning commercial drone pilot market. It was an immediate hit; we sold over 35,000 policies in less than two years. It even earned us a spot as a Jeopardy! clue (take that, bucket list!). As the service grew, pilots asked Verifly to arrange coverage for their other jobs, such as photography, construction work, house painting, DJ’ing, and more. And thus, Thimble was born.
